Price back on track
December 5, 2009
Carey Price made 37 saves, many of the spectacular variety, as the Habs dominated the Bruins 5-1 Friday night.
In his last 10 starts Price has had only one sub .900 performance, and recorded five wins in the process. Montreal's recent woes are clearly not attributed to goal tending, so start Price with confidence.

Cammalleri’s three goals sink Bruins
December 5, 2009
On a night commemorating the Habs centenary season, diminutive winger Mike Cammalleri did his fair share of celebrating, scoring three goals as the Canadiens downed the Bruins 5-1.
The Montreal offense has been streaky this season to say the least, and Cammalleri is no exception. Hopefully this little offensive outburst can get things turned in the right direction.

Kessel to face former team Saturday
December 4, 2009
Phil Kessel will face his former team, the Boston Bruins, for the first time since the sniper was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the off-season. Kessel has been outstanding for Toronto with 10 goals and 15 points in 15 games this season.
Kessel seems to be enjoying life in Toronto, and it is surely paying dividends for the Maple Leafs. Even though Kessel missed the first 12 games of the season, he is still on pace to break the 30 goal mark. Kessel is a dynamic offensive presence and is a must start every night.
Nabby throws Pickles under the bus
December 4, 2009
Shark's goaltender Evgeni Nabokov was critical of defender Marc-Edouard Vlasic as the Blues were able to tie the game with six seconds remaining in the third period, and would eventually finish the job in OT.
“That was the perfect situation for the defenseman up front to go and block the shot . . . he wasn’t able to,” Nabokov said, noting he never saw the shot. “With six seconds left, I think ‘Pickles’ should block the shot.”
That's certainly not the kind of language you expect to hear from a team member of an NHL leading club. Nabokov should stick to stopping the puck and leave the sermons to the coaches.

Stevens gets sacked
December 4, 2009
The struggling Flyers have let the axe fall and John Stevens was the unfortunate victim. Once considered one of the favourites to emerge from the Eastern Conference the talented Flyers have been mired in a horrendous funk, going 3-7 in their last 10 games, and falling out of the playoff race.
It appears that the Flyers have settled on Peter Laviolette as their replacement. Laviolette last coached the Carolina Hurricanes, leading them to a Stanley Cup Championship in 2006.
