Patrice Bergeron offensive catalyst in win
December 2, 2009
.
Patrice Bergeron's goal and two assists propelled the Bruins to a 5-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was also +3 on the night.
Bergeron has been as streaky as they come this year; he will have an offensive explosion like we saw tonight and then fade into the background for another handful of games. His 21 points (8G, 13A) in 27 games puts him on pace for 63 points over an 82 game schedule.
Respect your Edlers
December 2, 2009
Vancouver Canuck d-man Alex Edler had his second three point night in his last three games, registering a goal and two helpers in a 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils.
Edler is now among the top 10 in defence scoring with 19 points (2G, 17A), and is enjoying a career year. He's a gamer, and if he's on your fantasy squad you are reaping the rewards.

Rafalski could miss time with sore back
December 2, 2009
Brian Rafalski was forced to leave practice today with a sore back. The team is unsure if he will be able to suit up for Thursday's game and have called up Jakub Kindl from their Grand Rapids (AHL) affiliate. If Kindl is required to replace Rafalski it would mark his first NHL regular season action.
The injury to Rafalski doesn't appear to be very serious so he should be back in the lineup in no time.

Kane and Toews are looking at five years apiece, while defenceman Duncan Keith looks to be the big winner, signing a 13 year pact totaling 72 million dollars.
This is a big day for the Chicago franchise who are making a huge commitment to the core of their team. It also meas that the Hawks will eventually have to jettison some salary to get under the cap for next season.

November 27, 2009
The Oilers announced today that Ales Hemsky will receive season ending shoulder surgery. Hemsky finishes his season with 22 points (7G, 15A) a +7 rating, and 8 PIMs.
Yikes. That's a huge blow for the Oilers. Keep and eye out on Penner. This setback will undoubtedly affect him as well.
