While no one would ever have the audacity to say that losing Alexander Ovechkin to injury is a beneficial to the Capitals, it’s certainly working out well for Tomas Fleischmann who is taking advantage of his increased responsibility. The 25-year-old potted two goals last night in a 7-4 victory over the Florida Panthers, and now has five goals in six games since returning from injury.
If for some reason you think Fleischmann’s recent success is a fluke, think again. He has made a steady progression in the goal scoring department over the past two years and looks to be continuing the trend. With the right opportunities he could score 30 this season.
