It has only been three periods of hockey for Maple Leaf rookie Jonas Gustavsson, but they have certainly been memorable. Nicknamed “The Monster”, Gustavsson was very impressive against the Red Wings in back-to-back shared games with Vesa Toskala.
The Monster made many key saves during the game, but none better them on a Red Wing two on nothing rush when he robbed Johan Ryno on what looked to be a sure goal, allowing the Leaf’s to cling to a 2-1 lead and eventually win the game.
Gustavsson is starting to look the real deal. Take a flyer on this guy.
