Marty Turco turned away 25 shots, but could not shut the door in the shootout as Dallas fell to the Canucks 4-3 in extra shots. The veteran goalie is still looking for his first win of the year, while Dallas backup Alex Auld was in net for Dallas’s only victory.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Dallas finally has a competent backup goalie in Alex Auld, whom coach Marc Crawford is quite familiar from his Vancouver days. If Turco can’t get the job done, you have to wonder if Auld will see his starts increase.
